A friend bought me the paperback version of "A Spell for Chameleon" probably 30 years ago now and I just loved it. Since then, I've read about fourteen books in the Xanth series and a few from some of his other series. Piers Anthony is now my favorite author and I love the Xanth series in particular because of how tongue-in-check the stories are/5(). His first Xanth novel, A Spell for Chameleon, won the August Derleth Fantasy Award as the best novel for , and his fantasy novels began placing on the New York Times bestseller list with Ogre, Ogre/5().
